Our Setting

Location

Within the historic Thames-side village of Whitchurch-On-Thames, part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our Preschool’s location couldn’t be more picturesque.

Set at the end of a rural lane, our children regularly benefit from the nature all around us, as well from organised outdoor activities.

It’s easy to see why the local area inspired Kenneth Grahame to pen The Wind in The Willows as it inspires us and our children every day. From the “Wild Woods” of Hardwick to the Maze and its human sundial, there is so much to explore and discover.

Facilities

One of the first thing the children notice when they come to look around is our playground.  Shared with the primary school's reception class, the playground is large, secure and contains mud kitchens, vegetable patch, covered sand pit, climbing frame and lots of bikes, cars and scooters.

Our classroom is well-stocked, clean and tidy; there is a high-quality wooden home corner, a cosy reading corner and several arts and crafts tables that are always set up and ready to go when the children arrive.

We also have a number of child-friendly toilet cubicles and sinks and a kitchen in which snacks and lunch boxes can be stored in the fridge.

Staff

Our staff are one of our biggest assets: experienced, friendly and welcome, the children love them and our parents appreciate their hard work and enthusiastic and imaginative approach to play and learning.
